    Cesare Saccaggi was a student at the Accademia Albertina in Turin between 1884 and 1890. He worked in Rome and was influenced by D'Annunzio's "Byzantine Rome," the pre-Raphaelites, and Lawrence Alma-Tadema. Saccaggi's production during the 1890s included classical, oriental, and genre scenes. He participated in exhibitions in Milan and Venice, receiving a bronze medal in 1900 at the Universal International Exhibition in Paris. In the early 20th century, he spent time in Paris, where he achieved success with Art Nouveau graphic works in collaboration with the Maison Goupil.
