Cezary Poniatowski's work is situated at the crossroads of many styles - it oscillates between figuration and abstraction, between what is organic and what is mechanical. Another characteristic feature of the artist is his use of the sparse language of workshop graphics in his painting compositions.


Pictures painted on canvas are characterized by economical means of expression - they are reduced, most often limited to black and white. They feature grotesque faces and plants, resembling fragments of out-of-context graffiti or comic book clippings. Compositions are generally open, limited by the demarcation line of the canvas, and freely intertwine with the surroundings.
