    Charles Bisschopps ( Liège , 25 April 1894 - Rossignol , 1975 ) was a Belgian painter, graphic artist and illustrator.

    He was a pupil in 1912 at the Academy of Brussels where his main professors were Jean Delville and Constant Montald. Biss was a volunteer during the First World War. He then traveled in Italy, Algeria, Spain and France.

    In 1965 he moved to Rossignol. He was married to Lucienne Coessens, daughter of sculptor Jules Coessens.

    Bisschops painted figures, genre scenes, landscapes, and was also a decorative painter. In his figure paintings are mainly scenes of elegant and fashionable women of Hispanic women in traditional costume. Shortly after the First World War there was a phas...
