    Charles H. Turner was born August 7, 1848 in Newburyport, Massachusetts and studied in Europe. Painted landscapes, portraits, illustrations, and genre scenes in oil and watercolors. Studied with Otto Grundman (1844-1890) at Boston Museum of Fine Arts School. Turner was a member of the Unity Art Club and the Boston Art Club where he became president.

    He was an exhibitor in Boston, Philadelphia, and New York. Turner had a home and studio in Jackson, New Hampshire. He exhibited (#38 At the Basket Maker's) at Jordan Galleries, Boston in 1896 and he exhibited at The Boston Art Club from 1881 to 1907.
