He is a double diploma-holder from the Kuala Lumpur College of Art, first in Fine Art in 1982 and then Figure Design in 1983. He has won the Outstanding Award in the Kelantan Watercolour Show in 2006 and the Galeri Shah Alam Open Incentive Award in 2009, but his biggest accolade was the Minor Award in the Young Contemporary Artists competition in 1990.
