Canadian artist Christopher Kier was born in 1959. Christopher Kier is a Canadian master of the centuries old encaustic painting technique which consists of combining pigment with beeswax and applying the mixture to canvas or other surfaces. More recently, he has taken on mixed media; his works consist of organic forms and sculptural qualities that evoke a sense of archaeological ruin. Kier has been a prominent actor in the Toronto art scene since the early 90's.
