    Clemence Wescoupe (1951)

    A prominent Canadian painter and printmaker, Clemence Wescoupe (aka: Oo-za-biness), of the Saulteaux Indian First Nation (a branch of the Ojibwa), was born on the Long Plain Indian Reserve, Manitoba and lives in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (about 50 miles west of Winnipeg). His paintings and prints are in several museum collections including the Canadian Museum of History.

    His mediums are oils, acrylics, watercolors, gouache, serigraphs* and lithographs*. His subjects are birds, animals, mother and child, legends, spirituality and allegory*.
