    Colin Graham B.A., M.A., LL.D., R.C.A. (1915 – 2010)

    A prominent west coast Canadian museum professional and popular painter, Colin Graham (aka: Colin D. Graham) was born in Vancouver, British Columbia and died in Victoria, British Columbia, where he had lived since 1951. Graham was the founding Director of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria where he worked for 22 years (1951 – 1973). After retiring he had a prolific career as a painter.

    His mediums were oils, tempera*, gouache*, watercolors and mixed mediums. His subjects included rural scenes, cityscapes, marine scenes and genre*. His styles could be described as Fauvism* or Modernism*. The askART images are excellent illustrations of his work.
