    Costas Malamos was born in Alexandria, Egypt. He studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts from 1932 - 1937 with Umbertos Argyros, Pavlos Mathiopoulos, and Costas Parthenis. He had his first one-man exhibition at Ioannina, Epirus in 1933. Other solo and group shows followed both in Greece and abroad.

    He has also painted frescos in churches and other public buildings. In 1972 he was awarded in Athens with the 2nd State Prize for Painting.
