    Dan Adkins (b. 1937)

    He worked as a comics artist for comic books and science fiction magazines. Born in Midkiff, West Virginia, Adkins worked as a draftsman when he was serving in the Air Force in the 1950s. He launched his own fanzine, called Sata, in 1956 and also contributed to other fan publications like Amra, Vega and Xero.

    Settled in New York City, Adkins freelanced for science-fiction magazines and several commercial studios. He started his career in comics in 1965, when he joined Wally Wood's studios. He worked with Wood on stories for the Warren magazines Eerie and Creepy, and worked on T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents and Sub Mariner. He worked as an assistant on ...
