    Daniel Vertangen was a native of aristocratic circles, Dutch painter of the Golden Age and also a student of Cornelis Van Poelenburch (1594 / 95-1667). It is believed that Vertangens apprenticeship stretched to 1617 or up to the start of the trip to Italy his master. Likewise, it can be considered from a long-term cooperation between the two painters to Poelenburchs return to the Netherlands in the year 1627th.

    During this period, Vertangen left of the style and motifs of his fellow artists inspired and became a famous Dutchman because of his portraits, drawings and Arcadian landscapes. His subjects are often borrowed from Ovid's Metamorphoses.
