About David Blower

  • Biography

    David Harrison Blower was born in Fontanet, IN on Sept. 18, 1901. Blower studied at Wicker School of Fine Arts in Detroit, and in Paris at Académies Colarossi and Grand Chaumière. He was a resident of Los Angeles from the mid-1930s until his death on Dec. 29, 1976. Exh: Michigan Artists, Detroit Art Inst., 1930, 1931 (prizes), 1950-51; Painters & Sculptors of LA, 1937; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 1941; Hoosier Salon, 1948-55; Calif. State Fairs, 1951-53. Works Held: DePauw University.
