    A driving force in a movement known as English Land Art, David is an installation artist, whose themes often focus on environmental issues of human beings and their surroundings. His piece, "Standing Frame, 1987" of charred white oak and linseed oil H. 172 x W. 209 3/4 x D. 209 1/2 in) is in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden of the Walker Art Center.

    David Nash is also known as one of the first artists to create ecological or environmental art. He is concerned about our natural environment. For his sculptures he uses wood only from trees that are already condemned to fall. He considers his way of working to be a form of recycling.
