In the 1940's he opened the Little Gallery on Royal Street, where he showcased his own work and that of many other artists. He also opened the David S. Nixon Art Foundation and Gallery on Madison St. in the French Quarter, with his wife June Prudhomme, as part of the complex of buildings she had purchased there and in which they lived.
