Diarmuid Delargy was born in Belfast and studied at the College of Art and Design at the Ulster Polytechnic before continuing his training at the Slade School in London. Delargy began exhibiting nationally and internationally in the 1980s, gaining early recognition with his exhibition Directions Out, a body of work reflecting on the political and social realities of the Northern Irish Troubles. His practice has continued to evolve while maintaining a strong engagement with place, history, and the complexities of lived experience.
