    Dietmar Lemcke was a German painter who studied at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin from 1948 to 1954, where his teachers included K. Schmidt-Rottluff and K. Hofer.

    Lemcke traveled extensively throughout Europe, and joined the 'Ecole de Berlin' group in Paris in 1954. In 1964, he became a professor in Berlin himself; among his best-known students was J. Grützke.
