After educating his children Domenico redirected his artistic talents from commercial to fine art, primarily painting oils on canvas. In 1968 he and his wife opened the Maida Art Center, from where thousands of his works were acquired by art enthusiasts, collectors and homeowners that enjoyed his varied subjects and unique depictions.
