    Edgar Farasyn (b.1858 / d.1938)

    Edgar Farasyn was born on August 14, 1858 in Antwerp, Belgium.

    Farasyn studied under Nicaise de Keyser, at the Academy in Antwerp. He became a professor at this academy in 1885.

    In 1891, Farasyn promoted the Flemish influence on art by being a founding member of
    "The XIII" as well as, a member of the group "Do You Himself.

    He started by painting children scenes; however, Farasyn moved toward painting in the open air in 1885. Farasyn painted urban scenes, landscapes, and village scenes.
