    Edith Helena Adie (1865-1947)

    She was a London based artist specialising in the painting of gardens and buildings. Having studied at South Kensington and the Slade she went on to exhibit at the Royal Academy 1893-1912, the New Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of British Artists. She later moved to Sevenoaks in Kent and spent time in Italy teaching art.

    Her date and place of birth (1865, Balham Surrey) and death 1947, aged 82, at Tonbridge Kent, are based on census data, which also revealed that she lived with her parents and two siblings in the London area for most of her life.
