    Edmund of Wörndle, Edler to Adelsfried and Weiherburg was born in 1827. He was an Austrian history and landscape painter, draftsman, and etcher. He is also the father of the history painter Wilhelm von Wörndle (1863-1927).

    In 1846, along with his brother August von Wörndle (history painter and Nazarenes, 1829-1902), studied at the Academy in Vienna with Josef von Führich, Franz Steinfeld and Thomas Ender.

    From 1855-56, the artist took study trips to Palestine and Syria. From 1856-59, worked with a travel grant to study in Rome, and from 1859 in Innsbruck. In 1851, he was charged with the exhibitions of the Austrian Art association. From 1852, he was also charged with the annual exhibitions ...
