    Edouard-Jacques Dufeu went to Paris in 1860, where he worked in the studio of Charles Gleyre and studied under Antoine Vollon. He became acquainted with the Barbizon school and Impressionist paintings, which influenced his work as a landscape painter. Dufeu exhibited regularly at the Salon des artistes français from 1865-1890.
