    In Krakow during the war he attended the Kunstgewerbeschule. After the war, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In the 1950s he moved to Warsaw. He has been exhibiting since 1962. Initially, he was associated with the Krzywe Kolo Gallery. After its closure in 1966, together with critics Wieslaw Borowski, Anka Ptaszkowska and Mariusz Tchorek and artists Tadeusz Kantor, Henryk Stazewski and Zbigniew Gostomski, he was a co-founder of the Foksal Gallery in Warsaw, where he repeatedly exhibited his works (15 individual exhibitions, the last one in February 2004 ), with a break in 1970-1984.
