About Edward Page

  • Biography

    A landscape and marine painter of Lynn, Massachusetts, Edward Page was was part of a group called the seven "Lynn Beach Painters." Other members were Charles Greene, Nathaniel Berry, Thomas Clark Oliver, and Charles Woodbury, William Partridge Burpee, and Edward Burrill. Page also taught at the Lynn Evening School of Art, and conducted several painting excursions with Charles Woodbury to Ogunquit, Maine.

    Page was born in Groveland, Massachusetts and was a student of George Morse in Boston. Until he was 35 years old, he worked in the local shoe and leather industry and financed his art training with money earned from that endeavor. He shared a studio with Frederick Porter Vinton.
