    Emanuele Brugnoli was born in Bologna 2 September 1859 and died in Venice 22 Mar 1944. He was the son of Gaetano (Brugnoli) and Carolina Villani.

    He was a watercolorist and etcher, almost exclusively of scenes of Venice. He studied at the Accademia in Bologna under the landscape artist Valentino Solmi (1825-77). In 1880, he moved to Venice, which became his home for the rest of his life. In 1886, he exhibited a watercolor Il Bacino di San Marco in Florence.

    In 1912, took up a teaching position (etching) at the Accadamia in Venice, a position he still held in 1932. He exhibited at the Venice Biennale over many years. He was prolific with both watercolours and etchings. In 1901 he exhibited an etching; in 1903, thr...
