    Emil Lindgren was accepted as a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1891 and after graduating in 1896 he traveled to Europe, first it was off to France and then he continued to England. During his journey, Lindgren's art was influenced by French landscape realism. It is also clear that Anders Zorn's pictures of people's life in Dalarna made a very strong impression and Emil Lindgren was happy to depict valley hills.
