    Emile Aubry was a painter who was born in Setif, Algeria and died in Voutenay Sur Cure, Burgundy, France. His mediums are oil, watercolour, pastel, pencil and charcoal. His subjects; mythological, historical, spiritual, religious, portraits, nudes, orientalism and North Africa. His styles are art deco, classical, representational and figurative.

    He studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts (Paris) under the orientalist Jean-Leon Gerome (1824-1904); and with the portrait and historical subject painter Carolus-Duran (AKA : Durand Charles Emile Auguste; (1837 - 1917).

    Aubry was a member of the Institut de France (1935), and exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1905 to 1937. In ...
