About Emile Mangenot

  • Biography

A highly regarded landscape painter, Émile Mangenot painted views of the various regions of France, and in particular scenes in Brittany and Normandy. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français*, where he won a silver medal in 1957; in the same year a painting of his was acquired by the State.

Although it was not until 1958 that he had his first one-man show, at the Galerie André Weil in Paris, it was followed by several more in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
