    Emile Sabouraud, French (1900 - 1996)

    Emile Sabouraud was a French painter (born in Paris on November 17, 1900 - died in Lagny-sur-Marne in 1996).

    Son of a physician, Emile Sabouraud was also the older brother of pianist Cecile de Brunhoff, wife of Jean de Brunhoff, the creator of Babar.

    Emile Sabouraud was a student Othon Friesz at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere (circa 1918-1920) and member of the Pré Saint-Gervais Group, he exhibited at the Salon des Independants, the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuileries.

    In Algiers, he was a resident of the Villa Abd-el-Tif in 1935 and 1936. After returning to France, he joined the Painters of poetic reality. He is a professor at the Académie Julian (1946) and Dec...
