    Portrait, landscape and mural painter. Born in Chicago, IL on Nov. 27, 1882, the daughter of a wealthy clothing manufacturer. While in her teens Emilie began art studies at the AIC. In 1906 she married Isadore Weinberg and lived in Chicago. After settling in San Francisco in 1913, she established a studio in her home at 1801 California Street. She later moved across the bay to Berkeley where she had further study with Hans Hofmann at UC (1930). Her final move was to nearby Piedmont where she remained until her death on Jan. 15, 1958. Her early works were watercolors, a medium she discarded in favor of oil during her later years. Having studied in NYC with Wm M.
