    Emy Roeder was born in 1890.


    She was a German sculptor and a pupil of Bernhard Hoetger (1874-1949) from 1912-1915 in Darmstadt.


    Subsequently, in Berlin she participated in the "Association of radical visual artists", to which besides Hoetger also Rudolf Belling (1886-1972) and Herbert Garbe (1888-1945) count.


    Then she was in the circle of Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945), Ernst Barlach (1870-1938) and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (1884-1976).


    Emy Roeder received the Scholarship of the Villa Romana under Hans Purrmann (1880-1966).


    Emy Roeder was branded "degenerate" in the Nazi era. Received numerous honors and awards.

    Emy Roeder passed away in 1971.
