About Emy Rogge
Biography
Emy Rogge (1866-1959), born Anna Emilie Clara Rogge, was a German painter, etcher, and copyist. She was born near Nordenham and had her artistic education in various German cities, including Dresden, Oldenburg, and Berlin. She was a founding member of the Oldenburg Artists' Association and was active in several artists' organizations. From 1902 to 1922, she worked as a copyist at the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum (now Bode Museum) in Berlin. In 1922, she moved to Worpswede, where she founded an etching workshop and publishing house with her brother. She organized exhibitions from 1895 onwards.
