  • Biography

    In 1969 Enrique Guzman moved from Guadalajara to Mexico City and entered La Esmeralda, where he suffered from maladjustment; Unable to cope with that professional siege at school, he decided not to finish the degree.

    However, he continued painting and at the beginning of the 1970s he incorporated certain figurative iconographic elements into his work, and also made use of a novel appropriation of Magrittean surrealism, manifesting his rejection of reason, as well as his confidence against subjectivity.
