    Erich Fraaß first trained the technique of lithography, before he attended the School of Applied Arts in Dresden. From 1913 to 1914, he studied at the Art Academy under Oskar Zwintscher. From 1919 to 1922, he continued his studies under Robert Sterl. He then worked as a freelance artist.

    In 1921, Fraaß was a member of the artist group 'Die Schaffenden' in the circle of Conrad Felixmüller. In 1931, he was a co-founder and president of the 'Neue Dresdner Sezession', which was banned in 1934. In 1933, the artist was classified 'degenerate', and in 1935, he was deprived from his artistic status. After World War II, Fraaß worked on the board of the Anti-Fascist Council o...
