German landscape and still life painter. Born 1888 in Berlin-Kreuzberg, died 1972 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Studied 1907-14 under Friedrich Kallmorgen at the Berlin Academy. In 1914, stayed with Kallmorgen in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Dinkelsbühl, Nördlingen, and Harburg, where he met Wilhelm Thiele. Regular summer stays in Harburg. Member of the Reichsverband Bildender Künstler Deutschlands, Verein Berliner Künstler, Munich Artists' Cooperative and New Munich Artists' Cooperative. Exhibited at the Great Berlin Art Exhibitions, Munich Glaspalast, and the Great German Art Exhibition in the House of German Art in Munich from 1938-44.
