    Erich Sokol (born March 31, 1933 in Vienna, † February 20, 2003 in Mödling near Vienna) was an Austrian illustrator and caricaturist. He attended the Goethe Realschule in Vienna XIV. In addition to his interest in handball, drawing was his passion early on. During his high school years, he attended courses at the "Artistic Adult Education Center in the Academy of Fine Arts" in Vienna. In 1952, the young Sokol sold his first drawing to the socialist Kleine Blatt for a fee of 15 shillings at the time (corresponds to today's equivalent of around 8 euros).

    In 1952 he graduated and started his studies at the University of World Trade. Parallel to his economics studies, drawing remained his real passion, and he also achieved further sales ...
