    Erno Jeges was one of the pioneering founders who – after the Baia Mare annexed with Trianon – the Serbian small town on the Danube became the most important place in 20th century Hungarian painting. Eight young Réti disciples organized the first colony in 1926 to continue to cultivate the tradition of the painting pictorial painting in Nagybánya. This became the old art colony of Szentendre.

    He studied with the members of the Szonyi Circle, with István Szonyi, Vilmos Aba-Novák and Károly Patkó at the Academy of Fine Arts. (Béla Lazar – in addition to Szonyi – referred to it as the most talented young representative of the new generation.)
