Ernst Eck (1879-1941) studied under the guidance of Joseph Eugen Hörwarter at the Graphische Lehr and Versuchsanstalt in Vienna. From 1897-1905 he attended the ABK and was a student of Alois Delug, among others. In 1905, a scholarship brought him to Paris. From 1917-18, he studied sculpture under Edmund von Hellmer.
From 1910 to 1939, he was a member of the Vienna Secession and then of the Künstlerhaus. Trips have taken him throughout Europe, India, Java and Australia.
