    Ernst Huber (Vienna,1895-1960)

    He served an apprenticeship as a typesetter from 1910-14 at the Genossenschafts-Buchdruckerei (Vienna Cooperative Book Printers) under the direction of Otto Prutscher. During this time he attended evening classes for ornamental drawing at the Vienna School of Applied Arts.

    Huber received an invitation from Josef Hoffmann to contribute to the 1920 Vienna Kunstschau, an annual national display of art - upon the recommendation of the sculptor Gustinus Ambrosi. The prestige of exhibiting alongside such established painters as Herbert Boeckl, Anton Faistauer, Oskar Kokoschka, Anton Kolig and Franz Wiegele was very important to Huber's early career.
