    Ernst de Jong, born in 1934 in Pretoria, South Africa, was a talented artist known for his Abstract Suprematist Symbolic style. He studied at the University of Oklahoma in the USA, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. De Jong opened his own studio for graphic design in 1958 and later lectured in graphic design and painting at various institutions in South Africa. He also spent time in Oslo, Norway, where he created a series of works titled Passage to Norway. De Jong participated in solo and group exhibitions worldwide, including the 1972 Venice Biennale and a Retrospective Exhibition at the Pretoria Art Museum in 1994. He completed public commissions, postage stamp artwork, and served as the Design Director for new South Africa...
