When returning to Sweden in the second half of the 1920's, it relieves the artist. Esaias Thorén performs many of his most sought after works, including paintings such as Sjöman (1928), Diskuskastare (1929), Man with green carts (1925) and Composition with woman and mask (1929). Like the other members of the Halmstad group, Esaias Thorén passed over in the 1930's to a surrealistic painting.
