    Ettore Simonetti. Born in Italy in 1857 and died in 1909. He was an Italian painter of the 18th and 19th centuries. His original artist themes were redirected towards Orientalism, which he portrayed hoping to represent the inner essence of the subject from his point of view and not just the external appearance.

    He struggled to recreate a photographic realism or an impressionistic resemblance. He struggled to make a representative portrait.

    In his portraits he achieved a wide range of subtle emotions, from a position to a kind smile. He captured the moment and the expressions.
