    Eugen Bracht (1842 - 1921)

    Born at Lake Geneva, Switzerland and of German parentage, Eugen Bracht was a pupil of Friedrich Frisch, Charles Seeger and a student at the Academy of Karlsruhe. Later he studied under Gudes at Dusseldorf.

    He was known for painted landscapes and coastal scenes in North Germany, and in 1880, he made a sketching trip through Syria and Palestine.

    He was appointed Professor of Landscape Painting in the Berlin Art Academy in 1882; was awarded a Gold Medal at Berlin in 1889 and his work is represented in the National Gallery in Berlin.
