Following in the tradition of Joaquín Sorolla, Spanish artist Eustaquio Segrelles works to capture the "Valencian light" that is possessed by the land, sea, and people from this region.

Segrelles strives for strong draftsmanship to highlight play with color, tone, light, and shadow. His subjects embody the concept of naturalism as they are never dramatized, but painted just as they are.

Eustaquio Segrelles was born in 1936 in the town of Albaida, Valencia Spain. When Eustaquio was age six, his father, an artist, passed away, leaving his mother to care for him and his five siblings in the unruly times of the Spanish Civil War.
