    In a letter from Paris dated 29 April 1889, Eva Bonnier writes: "Now I shall paint from my garden, or rather the garden outside my windows, which is now snowy of all flowering trees. Eva Bonnier was familiar with the different art directions of the time and pursued finely tuned, realistic scenes.

    In Paris, she studied during the 1880s at Académie Colarossi and lived in the neighborhood of Montparnasse. She admired Jules Bastien-Lepage a lot but never met him in Paris because of his illness. Eva Bonner's artistic production covers the period from 1878 until 1894 when she chose to stop painting.
