Fernand Dubuis was born in 1908. Fernand Dubuis's artistic career began at the Ecole Cantonale de dessin et d'art in Lausanne, which he visited in 1928-29 for a few months. He then moved the artist to Paris, where he continued his education at several free academies in Montparnasse. Delighted with the painting of the Quattrocento, the artist toured Italy from 1934-1937.
