About Francesco della Questa

  • Biography

According to De Dominci, Francesco Della Questa was a pupil of Giovan Battista Ruoppolo. Throughout his career, which spanned more than two decades in the mid-18th century, his inspirational models were almost all the founders of Neapolitan still life, from Giuseppe Recco to Abraham Brueghel.

An eclectic artist, sensitive and adept at assimilating the most varied local experiences, Della Questa was an artist who developed a personal style. The compositional balance between the different parts of his works is particularly refined, as if each element, only apparently detached, were harmoniously interpenetrated.
