Francis Grüber was a French painter and founder of the École Nouveau Réalisme. He was born as the son of the stained glass artist Jacques Grüber, and his style was influenced by several artists including Bosco, Albrecht Dürer, and Jacques Callot. He moved to Paris in 1914 and exhibited at the Salons d'Automne and the Salons des Tuileries from the age of 18.

He had his first solo exhibition in 1936 and took over his father's studio after his death in the same year.
