    Francisco Rodriguez Sanchez Clement was a Spanish artist who studied at the San Fernando School and was awarded the title of professor of drawing in 1914. He was influenced by Velázquez and Zurbarán and was impressed by Andalusian folklore during a trip to Seville. He founded an artistic workshop in Elche in 1923 and moved to Madrid in 1932, where he had great success with his paintings. The Civil War interrupted his career, and he returned to Elche in 1937. He was appointed director of the Municipal School of Drawing and Painting in Elche and tutored outstanding artists from the area. He obtained the prize of honour at the Provincial Exhibition of Fine Arts in 1944 and moved to Valencia three years later, where he exhibited with great succ...
