    François Galoyer is a French artist who was born in an unknown year and grew up in Seine-et-Marne. He learned the techniques of direct carving on stone and wood from Volti and the Joachim brothers in Pompon's workshop between 1962 and 1969. Galoyer's sculptures are inspired by the forests of his childhood and feature animals such as owls, hawks, partridges, chickadees, hamsters, moles, and rabbits. He prefers to sculpt life-size animals in noble woods and bold stones. Galoyer regularly participates in various art exhibitions and has received several awards, including the Grand Prix Animalier Édouard-Marcel Sandoz in 1991.
