    He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1868 and received formal training under Birge Harrison, Frank V. Dumond and John F. Carlson, most likely at the Art Students League in New York. He was elected a member of Salmagundi in 1916, the year prior to our Club's move to its present quarters at 47 Fifth Avenue and was a regular exhibitor from 1917-1931. A painting by him, Evening in June, was donated and auctioned to help purchase the building in 1917, and another, The Brook—January, in 1918. He remained, for the most part, in his home town as the address we have for him in those years was 3435 Boulevard, Jersey City. He specialized in landscape and is listed as having work in the Hoboken Public Library....
